The web is populated by two kinds of people: givers and takers. Unfortunately, the vast majority of people spend more time taking than giving. Worse still, the most of the givers fill the web with useless junk.

Successful internet entrepreneurs have the rare ability to create something valuable in the sea of garbage.

If you participate, engage in conversations, and create something valuable (good article, unique service, etc), you’ll reap the rewards: the respect of your community, a loyal fan base, and a stream of new clients.

The same principle applies offline.

Being the number 1 website on google has significant advantages. The top site will receive 40 percent of traffic for any given keyword and gains a significant credibility boost over all of the other websites.

Search engine optimization has become one of the biggest buzz words on the web but the best SEO strategies are actually pretty straightforward. The website with the most keyword rich content we usually rank number one, assuming the website is properly coded and has a few decent backlinks.

Most search engine optimization experts try to game the system by adding thousands of worthless backlinks to a website and writing fake reviews. This strategy usually backfires or gets beaten by more legitimate techniques. Playing by the rules pays off when it comes to search engine optimization. It’ll take longer to rank first, but you’ll stay on top longer and you won’t risk being de-indexed or penalized by Google.

Hands down, the best way to rank #1 is by maintaining a chiropractic blog with lots of short, pertinent articles. Take thirty minutes per to write an article about chiropractic, your community, or your recent adventures and you’ll see a steady ascent to the top of the search results. In the long term, content is king.

The “cyberfication” of American has been rocky, full of holes, and daunting but a new report by Fleishman-Hillard makes it clear that we’ve officially entered the digital era. The report discovered that 75% of people are more likely to trust businesses that use social media and micro-blogging (Facebook, twitter, etc) services to interact with their customers. Another part of the study revealed that an overwhelming majority of consumers use the internet to research purchases or services, in fact, nearly 60% of people said that the internet played a central in their day to day decision-making.

What does all this mean? It means you should invest some time and energy into creating a social media presence for your business. If you don’t, you’re likely to be left in the dust.

Here are some successful chiropractic marketing ideas. These simple tips can save you money and get new patients.

Host an annual food drive to support a local charity. Provide free exams in exchange for canned food donations.

Offer patients a $10 gift certificate for every new referral they bring in.

Give construction workers a coupon for a free or lost cost exam.

Launch a Google Adwords Campaign – check our free ebook for tips!

Start a Facebook page for your practice.

Optimize your website for search engine results – (free SEO guide) .

Get a good website. You’re wasting your time and money if your site drives patients away. Avoid neon or “carnival” colors, skip the bells and whistles, and never use animations or sounds – trust us.

Start a blog and post new articles often – even short, imperfect ones (like the one you’re reading).

Include your website address, twitter account, and facebook page to all of your stationary and business cards.

Simplify the content on your site. People don’t read long paragraphs anymore – they need bullet points.

Sponsor a local sports team, Boy Scout troop, charity, or Boys and Girls club.

Attend local events and don’t sell anything. Being friendly and educational will attract more patients.

Take care of your existing patients. If you really impress them, and I mean go way above and beyond, they’ll evangelize you. Nothing attracts new patients like other happy patients.
