Multimodal Chiropractic Care for Migraine in Women

Sometimes women suffer from migraines, which can significantly impact their quality of life. There is hope in a treatment plan consisting of chiropractic care and enhanced usual care.

Multimodal Chiropractic Care Can Help Reduce Migraine Days

Published in SAGE online in October of 2020, this study involved 61 patients randomized between care types. Of these 61 patients, 29 were randomly selected to received Multimodal Chiropractic Care (MCC+) in addition to Enhanced Usual Care (EUC).

The study

During a twenty-month period, twenty-four of twenty-nine MCC+ participants attended more than 75% of their chiropractic sessions. These MCC+ participants experienced greater reductions in migraine days (-2.9 days for MCC+ vs. -1.0 days for EUC. 

The results

The study concluded that the preliminary data support a trial of MCC+ for the treatment of migraine in women.
