Auditing Your Google Business Profile—How to Spot Mismatched Services
A step-by-step structural audit to find where your Google Business Profile services don't match the pages on your website, and how to grade your inconsistency risk before it costs you rankings.

If you want to diagnose why your online marketing isn't converting clicks into new patient phone calls, you need to conduct a structural audit of your digital footprint.
Think of this as a digital spinal screening. We are looking for structural misalignments between what Google thinks you do and what your website actually proves you do.
Step 1: Export Your Google Business Profile Taxonomy
Log into your Google Business Profile dashboard and list out every single primary category, secondary category, and custom service you have selected.
A typical chiropractor's profile often looks like this:
- Primary Category: Chiropractor
- Services Selected: Physical Therapy, Spinal Adjustment, Sciatica Relief, Pediatric Chiropractic, Whiplash Treatment, Sports Injury Therapy.
Step 2: Run the Parity Match Audit
Open your website in a separate tab. Create a simple table to check if your assets are aligned or misaligned.
| GBP Listed Service | Dedicated Website URL Present? | Content Depth Level | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| Spinal Adjustment | clinic.com/chiropractic-adjustments | Deep (Techniques explained) | ALIGNED |
| Sciatica Relief | None (Only a bullet point on home page) | Thin / Missing | MISALIGNED |
| Pediatric Care | clinic.com/pediatric-chiropractic | Deep (FAQs & Proof) | ALIGNED |
| Whiplash Treatment | None | Missing | MISALIGNED |
Step 3: Grade Your Inconsistency Risks
If more than 30% of your listed map services lead to a generic page or a thin bulleted list, your online entity is fractured.
Search engines increasingly penalize over-optimized map profiles that lack supporting website depth. To fix this, temporarily remove the services from your GBP that you don't actually feature on your site, or commit to building out the missing pages immediately.
