Your Chiropractic Website and Off-Page SEO

September 23, 2019

We know how important SEO (search engine optimization) is for your chiropractic website. People Google everything and anything so your website needs to be optimized for the search engines so you can be found. Everything we do on our website is reaching that goal of ranking on page 1. The SEO we are most familiar with is performing optimization of your website and its individual web pages; the content, keywords, internal links or the html source of that page. This is referred to as On-Page SEO.

What is Off-Page SEO?

Off-page SEO refers to all action taken that is not related to your actual website pages. It matters to Google what happens away from your website as this avenue tells Google what others think about your website. This type of SEO affects your website ranking and how it gets indexed by search engines.

3 Important Off-Page SEO Goals

1. Link Building - A website that has high quality back-links will rank higher in the search engines. This is a link on one domain that points to another. If the Pilates Studio website from down the street links to your chiropractic website, they just gave you a back-link. Of course Google will rank you higher if other websites are linking TO YOU.

2. Social Media Marketing - Use your social media platforms like Facebook or Twitter to promote your chiropractic website and share your content. This is also a form of link building - posting a blog on your Facebook page that links right to that page on your website.

3. Brand Mentions - Googles whole platform is for the user to have a good experience. If your Brand is mentioned on forums, in articles, on reviews or social media networks, it shows expertise and trustworthiness which translates to a good user experience.

The world of SEO is a never ending challenge. Everything we do has an affect on our websites ranking and indexing by Google. With off-page SEO we focus all our efforts outside of our website. Produce solid content and share it on the web. Use directories with high authority and have other local businesses link back to your site like a chamber of commerce... or an injury attorney who refers you patients. Ask the Yoga Studio or Vitamins/Supplements store you recommend to people to add a link on their website to yours. Tell them you'll do the same for them and then everyone is happy and has a quality back-link! It takes some effort but it is worth it.
