Can Your Patients See Your Chiropractic Site?

A report from CNN finds that for the first time in the US, mobile web traffic has surpassed desktop web traffic. It's time to think about how this affects your chiropractic practice. Here are some things you need to think about:

  1. Can your patients easily use your site on their smartphones? Many people use their phones to search for local businesses (including chiropractors). If a patient finds your site, but they can't easily view it when they get there, they're more likely to leave your site and look elsewhere. Getting visitors to your site can be expensive, especially if you're paying for AdWords, so you need to make sure that you make it easy for your patients. You can't throw away traffic!
  2. Does the menu on your chiropractic site work on mobile? Depending on how your site is built, the menu that works great on your desktop computer might be broken or difficult to use on a smartphone or tablet. We've seen many cases where it's virtually impossible to click on a submenu item on an iPad or smartphone. If you frustrate your site visitors, they simply won't come back to your site.
  3. Make sure your chiropractic videos work. Most modern video services are setup to be HTML5 compliant, meaning that they'll work on modern browsers, including mobile. But if your website videos use Flash, they simply won't work on iOS devices, as Apple no longer supports Flash.
  4. Make sure you're only running one website! A few years ago, the standard practice was to create a separate, standalone mobile website that would work on phones or tablets. That's a really inelegant solution, since you're essentially running two separate websites. If you make a change on one, you have to make the change on the other.

The Solution

The answer is "responsive" or "reactive" website design. With this type of system, your site detects the type of browser your visitor is using and then displays a page that works correctly for that device. It's a bit of work on our end to program it, but our N8 Chiropractic Site Builder is built on this technology so you can be assured that your chiropractic site is always modern and up-to-date.

It is our job to stay on top of the latest technology so that your web presence continues to be relevant and works on newer devices and browsers as they're released. By keeping your legal website up-to-date, you can focus on helping clients!
